Sagittarius the Archer is reaching the end of its apparition for 2026, as we see it in mid-October tipping over to the right just after dark.  In this scene taken from near Chatham Manor in Fredericksburg, most of the Teapot stars can be seen over two of the prominent spires in old town, the Circuit Court on the left and the Episcopal Church to the right.  The fractal curve of Corona Australis lies below the Teapot and one of the strangest stellar naming conventions is shown here, and that is the very non-descript star that was given the designationα Sagittarii.  Unannotated image.
