NGC 2374 is an open cluster in Canis Major, so I was expecting it to be fairly easy to locate and observe.  I did indeed locate it fairly easily, and it was not difficult to resolve into stars either.  I found the central area of the cluster to be fully resolved, in other words I did not see any sort of granular haze behind the resolved stars, however the outer regions of the cluster were rather undefined.  It was hard to tell where the cluster boundary was, it just blended in with the Milky Way background.  The best way to star-hop to this object is to begin at the previous object in the list, NGC 2359 and move eastward until you come across the cluster.
