NGC 1058 is more difficult than NGC 1003 was.  The star-hop is challenging but this time seeing it was much harder than was the case with 1003.  Begin at ρ or π Persei and find the diagonal line of three stars marked in the rectangle below.  Then follow the line of two brighter stars to the west of the three stars in the rectangle, then jog west-southwest to a faint pattern made by a brighter star and two fainter ones very close together, then from there make an arc up toward the northwest following three stars.  NGC 1058 is located some distance away at the focus point of the shallow arc.  On the other side of the galaxy, there is a pattern of a pair of stars and a lone star that make an equilateral triangle with the galaxy.  I found it to be barely detectable, although with averted vision I could see a faint glow at the correct spot. Switching to 123x helped some.  No structure detected.
