NGC 741 was another galaxy in Pisces that stood out more easily than many of the previous ones I observed.  I noted that it was not too hard to find and hold even with direct vision, but that it did not show any structure, no core, just an even glow across its extent.  I found it to be an exact match for the reference image I used, so I am very confident in the identification.
Unless you start at NGC 706, to begin the star-hop to this object from scratch, you might start at α Piscium, Alrischa, and go northwest to the next star in the cords, then due north to a pair of stars of slightly unequal brightness (right below the word "Inset" on the chart below), which point roughly to where NGC 741 is.  Fortunately, it is bright enough to stand out while panning across the sky, at least for me at 76x it was bright enough to see while doing the star-hop.  To think that this galaxy is 255 Mly away, over three times farther than NGC 718, but nevertheless slightly brighter!
