This is one of my series of images with a 135 mm lens of the open clusters in the winter sky. Here we focus on the great cluster M35 in western Gemini, and highlight the other objects visible in the area (of which there are surprisingly few). The first thing to note is how large and rich M35 is! Its neighbor, NGC 2158, makes a nice contrast to it. What I found most interesting about the image, however, is that NGC 2175 shows up pretty well even though this camera is not sensitive to H-alpha emissions. Unannotated image. |
