The globular cluster M5 in Serpens (Caput) is one of the finest visible from the northern hemisphere, a close rival to M13 in Hercules.  It is located in southwestern Serpens, conveniently close to the star 5 Serpentis, and not far from the point where Serpens, Virgo, and Libra meet.  At magnitude 5.6, it should be visible to people with good vision from a dark location; look southwest of α Serpentis, otherwise known as Unukalhai.  This view was obtained with a 135 mm lens.  Unannotated view.
