From the Land's End Wildlife Management Area in King George County, Virginia, I acquired some images of the constellation Canes Venatici, focused on one of its Messier objects, the bright galaxy M63. It is located in the east-central part of the constellation, due north of the distinctive group of four stars that make a backwards figure-7 (19, 20, and 23 CVn are three of the stars). Two other faint galaxies are seen in the frame as well. Unannotated image. |
