After getting several images of Comets Lemmon and SWAN from one of my favorite spots on the Blue Ridge Parkway in Virginia, I took a few wide angle pictures of the Milky Way. This one is centered on Cepheus and shows the northern part of our galaxy from central Cygnus to Cassiopeia. Wide angle views such as this one are useful for highlighting the dark dust clouds backlit by the millions of stars in the galactic plane. Unannotated image. |
