In November 1996 I traveled to Florida to do some low latitude astronomy, which included taking pictures with my Nikon FE2.  Here we have a picture of the constellation Orion, probably at least 10 minutes in duration, piggybacked on a Celestron C8.  I don't recall the film I used but it records the red nebulosity in which the region is awash very well.  We see the Rosette Nebula in Monoceros at the extreme left (NGC 2244), Barnard's Loop that arcs around the east side of Orion, and the nebulosity around the easternmost star of the belt (Horsehead Nebula and the Flame Nebula).  W Orionis is the carbon star at the lower end of the shield of Orion.  Unannotated image, Back to Constellations
