Saturn was in Pisces for the first of its several opposition years in that constellation in 1996.  Here we see it still retrograding after opposition on September 26, slowly approaching the two northern stars of the parallelogram comprising 27, 29, 30 and 33 Piscium. Saturn, which as can be seen is well south of the ecliptic, is magnitude +0.74 on this night.  Unannotated image.
