Jupiter spent the year 1995 moving back and forth across the head of Scorpius, reprising its performance of 1983 and presaging its next one in 2007. I must have been somewhere in the mountains to take this wide angle shot of the Milky Way and Jupiter. The king of planets was magnitude -2.23 this evening. Unnanotated image.

I wasn't taking pictures of the sky back in 1983, and for some reason I didn't in the summer of 2007 during its opposition season either. The only picture I got in 2007 was in January. After 2007, Jupiter was in Scorpius again in 2019, as can be see with this picture.
