Venus has moved into central Leo by mid-July, and now the crescent Moon passes by over the course of several evenings.  Wildfires in Canada have resulted in heavily smoke-filled skies across northern and eastern United States, so this view over the cornfield only barely shows the brightest stars.  The Moon is about in the same location it will be next month when it eclipses the Sun on the 12th.  Unannotated image.
