Venus continues its evening apparition, still gaining in elongation from the Sun but falling in altitude as it now moves along the ecliptic in a direction that is more left than up when compared to the sunset point each evening.  Venus is now 5 days away from being closest to Regulus, which it will pass to the north.  Compare this view to that of July 8, 2018, the last time that Venus experienced this kind of evening apparition.  Venus is magnitude -4.08 this evening.  Unannotated image.
