Uranus has been in Taurus for this entire apparition, generally in the area immediately below the ecliptic south of the Pleiades. Uranus shines at magnitude +5.60, so it should be easily visible to the unaided eye in a dark sky, assuming 20/20 vision. Uranus was at opposition on November 21, almost exactly three weeks ago, and will continue retrograde motion until February 3 of 2026. On this evening, Uranus shines just below the star 14 Tauri, otherwise known as SAO 93568, which is a magnitude +6.13 star. Unannotated image. |
