Our documentation of the Moon from 19 October through new phase to a waxing crescent phase ends this evening with a shot of our double planet partner in Scorpius well to the south of Antares. This is a testament to its extreme southern latitude this year during this time of its extreme inclination compared to the ecliptic. In this period, the Moon is much to the south of the ecliptic here, and consequently also well north of the ecliptic when it is in the Taurus/Gemini area. Unannotated image. |
