Faint Mars remains stubbornly visible in the west an hour after sunset, finally now almost in conjunction with Spica.  This evening, one day before the conjunction occurs, Mars shines at magnitude +1.60, which is considerably dimmer than Spica at +0.98; they are separated by 2°25'54" at the time of the image.  Unannotated image.
