Saturn was difficult to see throughout the night of September 7 and 8 owing to its proximity to the just-past-full Moon; this means that Saturn is nearing its opposition, which falls this year on September 21, a day before the Autumnal Equinox.  In this view, we see that the Moon has already moved slightly north of the ecliptic after its node crossing that coincided with the eclipse.  Unannotated image.
