After several weeks of very little (and in some cases no) sunspot activity, a large sunspot finally emerged over the east limb and is making its way westward across the Sun's face.  Compare my image to the definitive one on Spaceweather for the next day (because my Sun image was obtained late in the afternoon of August 22).  According to their website, a huge CME occurred on August 21 on the farside of the Sun, so another large sunspot group should rotate around the limb and become visible within the next week or so.  Solar north and direction of rotation, Unannotated image.
