The almost full Moon is arcing low across the late spring sky, here shown in far southern Ophiuchus, to the lower left of Antares in mid-evening. The main image resulted from using my old, old Vivitar 28-200 mm zoom lens at 28 mm, and then a cropped and reduced shot of the Moon at 200 mm was superimposed onto it. This image shows how far south of the ecliptic the Moon is during the "major lunistice" phase of its 18.6 year orbital cycle. Unannotated image. |
