I borrowed my friend Jim's Nikon D90 for awhile to test it out as an astrophotography tool and took this very sharp and high resolution picture of Leo rising late in the evening of the last day of 2019, on which already the insanity of the pandemic of 2020 was brewing in China while being largely unknown to most Americans. The western portion of Leo shown here does not have many bright deep sky objects, which of course would almost certainly be galaxies, but one that is quite bright, at magnitude +8.90, is NGC 2903.
