NGC 7463 in Pegasus

Date of Observation ...... January 19, 2020
Instrument ............... 13.1" f/4.5 dobsonian
Magnification ............ 76x and 123x
Location ................. Engelhard, NC (light pollution map)
Observer ................. Eric David
Skies .................... extremely dark, clear, very transparent, light breeze, zodiacal light strong
I observed this galaxy and its companions early in the evening when it was already well down in the west near the zodiacal light and a small amount of light pollution from a town many miles to the west of my location on the Pamlico Sound.  Both of the galaxies in the H400ii list, this one and NGC 7465, were difficult.  I found them to be faint, small, and difficult to detect.  I could not detect any evidence of the structure shown in images such as this one by Jim Thommes.   Better than a CCD image of the galaxy group is this sketch by Michael Vlasov showing the relative sizes and orientations of the group members.
