NGC 7377 is a lenticular galaxy in southern Aquarius, not far from the Helix nebula. When I observed it early this evening, it was low in my southern sky, so the area is slightly more light-polluted than overhead or southeasterly, which makes it more challenging.  I noted this galaxy as being more condensed, with a higher surface brightness, than other galaxies I had attempted this evening.  I could not detect any structure, but was certain of the identification because the pattern of the field stars in the DSS image of the atlas I used matched exactly what I saw in the field of view.  This object is an example of the wide disparity in the magnitude given for it depending on the source:  the listings range from 11.1 to 12.8, which seems pretty far apart to me.
