NGC 4212 was challenging to locate because the star-hop is long and not based on very prominent field stars or any kind of obvious pattern.  However, once I found this galaxy, I was very surprised how prominent it was; in fact, I at first thought I stumbled across a different galaxy.  I found it to have good size and surface brightness, and I thought it had a noticeable orientation.  Checking its location against the field stars on DSS images showed that I had the right object.
