NGC 3301 is located due east of the Sickle of Leo, but also in a rather sparse area that caused me some difficulty in making sure I was in the right area.  Once in the area, however, I was able to pick it out while scanning in the field at 76x, so this galaxy was far easier to see than the others this evening.  I was able to see a brighter core surrounded by a hazy envelope, and I thought I could detect that it had an orientation, which matched with its orientation in the reference image I am using.  In the eyepiece, it is situated just to the southeast of a small triangle of stars.
