NGC 2889 in Hydra

  This galaxy is not too far from the previous one, NGC 2855, more due south of Alphard.  I found this one to be extremely faint, even though my observing guide listed it as slightly brighter than NGC 2855.  I could not see anything at 76x, and even at 123x, it was barely detectable using averted vision.  No structure was visible, just a hint of nebulous haze in the area where the galaxy should be.
