NGC 2500 in Lynx

  This object was difficult to locate, since it's in the middle of Lynx and there are not many bright stars in its vicinity, and none of them make any obvious pattern to help in identification.  The last hop is rather long, so you have to be sure you are going in the exactly correct heading to get to the right spot.  I found the galaxy to be barely detectable at 76x, as a small nebulous hazy patch.  It was surprising to see that going to 123x made it worse, the visibility of the object decreased when I did that!  I thought it exhibited an extremely low surface brightness, which is corroborated by the picture on the Wikipedia page.
