Moving to southern Monoceros, there are three H400ii objects in this area:  the first is NGC 2302, an open cluster.  Star-hopping to this area is not the easiest thing ~ I started at β Monocerotis and moved eastward in large hops, stopping to ensure I had the right stars along the way.  It helped me that Monoceros was near the meridian so moving my dobsonian was closely aligned with the lines of declination and right ascension.  I thought this object was obvious as soon as I came across it, and fully resolved at 76x.  There was a nice pattern of two different groups of stars that stood out to me.
