This open cluster is very faint and easy to overlook.  Locating it via star-hopping is not easy either!  I started in the area of the Rosette Nebula and worked my way east along a corridor of moderately bright stars, but then had to go a fairly long distance before arriving at the area of NGC 2269.  I found it to be very faint and easy to overlook.  At 76x it was very hard to even notice, but with 123x, it was noticeably easier.  I saw a pair of stars in the middle and three other outlying stars, but the rest was just an unresolved haze.
