I had definitely never observed this open cluster before, so I was again anticipating a challenge.  The object is located in the eastern part of Barnard's Loop, just east of the M78/NGC 2071 area, so I star-hopped from NGC 2071 over to stars on the other side of Barnard's Loop.  I was only able to see perhaps seven stars in the field of view at 76x, over a granular haze that represented the main part of the cluster.  I thought that the main stars I was able to see using direct vision were oriented in a more or less north south direction.
