This reflection nebula just north of the Orion Nebula, M42, is something that I have observed before, but usually from darker sites.  The colloquial term for it is the Running Man Nebula although I think you have to see a long exposure image of it to see the figure.  On this evening with the sky not being of the utmost transparency, I was a bit apprehensive as to whether or not I would be able to see it.  No need to worry, the nebulosity around the two main stars was visible, and with the addition of a nebula filter, more of the nebula becaome visible.  I could trace out the hazy glow quite a ways to the east and west, less so to the north.  At darker locations, I have been able to see a bit of the structure (it is left and slightly above the Orion Nebula in that pic), but on this evening, no structure was detected.
