NGC 1199 in Eridanus

  NGC 1199 was much easier to see than NGC 1172, because it's brighter and larger, so even though it has what I rated as a low to medium surface brightness, its size made it easier to detect.  There was absolutely no hint of NGC 1189, by the way; that galaxy is supposedly just to the west of NGC 1199, but is listed as magnitude 14.0.

TheSky® cites a figure of 11.5 for its magnitude, however the Herschel 400ii lists it at 11.3, which is reversed compared to most of the objects.
