NGC 1187 in Eridanus

Skies .................. orange zone, clear, cold, slight milkiness
  This galaxy was not difficult to find, but was rather faint and thus hard to see.  I thought it was rather large, with a very low surface brightness, just an extended light haze across the area.  I did not detect any core or concentration, nor any structure.
As you can see in the chart, start at 11 or τ3 Eridani and go straight north to the next easily visible star, and NGC 1187 is just to the south-southeast of that star.
